Barrachd Receives Commendation from Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce

The first Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce Business Awards ceremony was held in Edinburgh on Thursday, 29th March. More than 140 people attended the event, from some of the city’s best known companies.
We were thrilled to receive a commendation in the High Growth Company of the Year category, sponsored by Edinburgh City Council.

As part of the strategy to expand our operations, James Bureau has joined the sales team. Originally having trained as an accountant, and with 25 years’ experience working in the IT sector, including over 10 years selling Business Analytics to major household names, James will be at the forefront of helping us establish a significant presence in the south of England.

Having worked for IBM / Cognos for many years we are delighted to welcome Nick Waters to our team. Nick has extensive experience of Business Analytics and performance management across multiple industries and is highly regarded and recognised in the software world as a IBM Champion for Business Analytics. We look forward to seeing Nick develop our business and client base over the coming years with us.

Congratulations to Declan Rodger who today passed the fiendishly difficult IBM Certified Developer - Cognos 8 Controller exam and to Stuart Turnbull who gained the IBM Cognos Controller Technical Specialist certification.

Scottish long jumper Jade Nimmo, sponsored by Barrachd, achieves a new personal best

Jade is currently in the US, she has taken a scholarship with Western Kentucky University.

She was on superb form at the Sun Belt Championships on Saturday 25^th February, jumping 6m 24 a new personal best.  This now puts her third in the Scottish all-time list for indoor long jump.

Well done Jade!

Barrachd receives Smarter Planet award

Barrachd are proud to be jointly awarded a Smarter Planet Reference globe in recognition of the work we have been doing with Lisa Dawson at Edinburgh’s Telford College.

Working in conjunction with Lisa and her team we have developed a system to help Telford better track, monitor, and predict Student attendance giving a better chance of positively impacting a students time at College.
