Barrachd would like to congratulate Glenrothes Strollers FC on their recent award from the Scottish Football Association.

The Fife based youth football club is sponsored by Barrachd and is 3 years into a long term development and growth plan.

The hard work by a group of over 50 volunteers has been recognised with the award of the 'National Grassroots Community Football Club of the Year'.

The award was presented to some of their committee members by Liverpool FC manager and Scottish football legend, Kenny Dalgleish, along with SFA International Coach, Craig Levein.

Over the past 3 years, Glenrothes Strollers have taken on responsibility for their own home park on a long term lease. They have developed this 16 acre site with 9 football pitches, car parking and changing facilities. They have also raised and spent £140,000.00 on installing land drainage across the park.

In this time membership has grown from around 150 players to over 450 youths and kids from 5 years old through to 19 years old. They have also added a girls section and a young adults amateur team.
